The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) is one of Australia's most iconic sporting institutions - a private club with a 130,000 member strong membership base, responsible for managing the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and overseeing 14 sports under its banner.

I joined the MCC events team, working match days and major events at the MCG, one of the largest stadiums in the world, with a capacity of over 100,000. My role focused on contributing to a seamless patron experience for crowds upwards of 70,000 people, covering ticket validation, queue management at venue entrances, and providing patrons with information about the event, venue layout, and amenities.

Working across the Australian Football League to international cricket and major live entertainment events is both an ongoing education in large-scale event operations and a constant reminder of why I chose this industry.
