FIFA Women's World cup

The FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 was co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand and became the most attended women's sporting event in history, with Melbourne serving as one of the key Australian host cities.

In the lead up to the tournament, I joined the Volunteer & Workforce team as a Volunteer Management Intern, responsible for delivering the volunteer program across Melbourne's match day operations. I managed a cohort of 465 volunteers from onboarding and training communications through to match day rostering using Rosterfy as the primary workforce management platform. I also supported volunteers through the accreditation process and coordinated uniform collection to ensure a smooth and consistent volunteer experience.

During the tournament, I got to volunteer in operational roles myself, working alongside the accreditation and pre-match ceremonies teams gaining first-hand experience of how a global sporting event is run from the inside. This was my first major international event and the experience that cemented my career direction in major event operations.
